A Friend in Need

When several friends and I decided to take advantage of a ridiculously cheap last-minute airfare deal to London, we kept our fingers crossed that we’d actually be able to find a place to sleep for the four nights we would be there.

And, for the most part, we were lucky enough to find comfortable and cheap rooms for the first two nights. However, we soon realized that we were running through our meager cash and couldn’t actually afford another London accommodation, cheap or otherwise.

But I called an old friend from school and, before I could explain our sad tale, she generously insisted we stay with her for as long as we were in town.

We spent two nights eating pizza, drinking ale, and having a ball.

Now who says there are no guardian angels.
