Romantic Saddles
"My best friend told me the most romantic story the other day. Her and her boyfriend (now fiancée) are huge horse lovers. They ride together, have their horses stabled together, do everything together. I went to pick her up at the barn for a coffee date and saw she had two new saddles. I asked if they were English saddles or western saddles (horses aren’t my thing—I learn by proxy) and she laughed with a cute twinkle in her eye. Then she said “Those are engagement saddles”. It turns out that they went on a ride and he took her down to a lake she hadn’t ridden near before. He had trained his horse to get down on one knee. So they dismounted and then in front of her and her horse, him and his horse kneeled and he asked her to marry him!! She said yes of course and instead of picking out engagement rings they picked out engagement saddles together. So romantic. I hope one day I have a guy as romantic as that. Though if he gets me an engagement saddle, we’ll have a problem!
