When part of the roof of the local hospital was damaged in a storm, the hospital trust and architects decided that improvements could be made by having commercial skylights installed.  These skylights have made several improvements to the damaged wing and allow lots of natural daylight into the building.  There are special ventilation ducts which allow condensation to escape but do not allow draughts back in.  These skylights are ultra modern in construction and materials and are guaranteed not to fail.  They also have security fittings and have a proper fire rating.  Being low maintenance means that they can be left for some considerable time before requiring any looking after.
