The Refrigerator Ice & Water Filter number 4396841 replacement should be installed every 6 months or when the “change filter” light comes on, whichever occurs first.
There are simple instructions in installing your new water filter.
First, press the button to the left of the filter (depending on the unit type) to release it.
Next, simply pull the filter straight out and the water should shut off automatically. Remove the reusable color-keyed cap from the end and discard the old filter. Twist the cap onto the end of the new filter, push it the straight in until it “clicks” into place and reset your “change filter” light (if you have one).
