A woman whose mother or sister or female relatives whose grooves were more likely to also develop stretch marks. With regard to ethnicity , women with dark skin (more melanin) are less likely to get stretch marks that women with fair skin (less melanin). Women who drink lots of water during pregnancy may reduce the appearance of stretch marks because their skin is well hydrated with hcg shots. Stretch marks among pregnant women tend to occur in areas that span : the arms, chest , stomach , hips and thighs. In these areas of rapid stretching feels itchy and scratching can often affect the elasticity of the skin and cause stretch marks.
