Jane got me a new iPod for our anniversary, and it’s really nice. I put my whole CD collection on it so far and it’s still not even half full. I’ve been looking all over on the Web for free music, and found a lot of good sites. I can’t really afford to go out and buy a bunch more CDs right now.

A lot of the bands on MySpace will let you download their songs for free. I’ve been finding at least a few every day to download. I’m also gonna hook up my old turntable to the computer so I can record some of my vinyl. No sense in buying the CDs when I’ve already got the albums.

I was born in Thailand. However, my family came to the United States when I was just an infant. I do not even remember my time in Thailand. I have been learning a bit about my family’s ancestry and culture. One thing that I have been very curious about is the food. I am interested in taking a course at a Thai culinary school. There is one in my area and I have been looking into what courses they offer. They do offer courses for beginners like me. Something like that would be perfect and may even lead into something else.

I know that I am probably taking a big risk at being so impulsive but I have the opportunity of a lifetime tomorrow morning and I think that I am going to take it. There is an opening at the local tattoo shop with a very famous artist that is in town and he has opened up the shop for me because he was a good childhood friend of my husband’s. I have this friend that loves to cook all the time.  She has a large family and it seems she’s always in the kitchen when I call or come over.  When anyone has any questions, she’s the one everyone calls for quick answers.  There have been so many people that have told her that she should look into culinary school programs for herself so that she can make a living at what she loves.  She said that she’s thought about it, but didn’t think she could make it through.  I started helping her look and we found a good school close to home and next semester, she’s going.   

Last evening was the nicest time I had all week long. After supper, we went outside for awhile so Catty could catch fireflies. She gets so excited. It’s one of the pleasures of my life just to watch her run around.

Afterward, we came inside and I was watching a concert that I’d recorded. She crawled up on my lap and was asleep in about 10 minutes. Complete serenity…

This morning it’s back to the grind, scouring the Web for free music videos for the show (while Catty’s still snoozing). Seems like it never lets up with our production schedule. Finding a lot of great tunes though.

I know it may be a little clichéd, but I am really thinking about getting a barbed wire tattoo.  I have always wanted a tattoo, but I don’t want a huge image on my body.  I think a barbed wire tattoo around my upper arm would look good.  It will be easy to cover up for my job and any events that it would not be kosher to have a tattoo on display.  I a lot of my friends say barbed wire tattoos are very uncool these days, but I like them. Maybe I will start the trend of bringing them back.
