The Song is the Thing for a Successful School Dance!
My daughter was in charge of her Homecoming Dance music. She was really enthusiastic about it as she is very creative and has excellent taste. She really has a knack for creating a great flow for parties by her choice of music. She has big plans for the main theme song — it had to be best party song that would really come to mean something for all the students. I had a lot of fun with her as she ran by all of the selections with me. I know that this dance is going to be a great success for her and all of her classmates!
Dear Daddy Girls
I was poking around on myspace the other day and went back to one of my favorites Bek Phillips. Well it seem she has joined forces with two other talented musicians and they call themselves Dear Daddy. It is the best new music I’ve heard in a while! I was far from disappointed to say the least. The new songs are ROCKING and the girls looks HOT. Oh yeah did I fail to mention it’s an all girl group?? Haven’t seen one of those in a minute, a good one at least. I’m not talking Destiny’s child three singers and dancer kind of girl group. I’m talking like Pat Benatar meets Josi and the Pussycats. Very cool.
Part Night Decoupage
I just brought home a teaching video on Step by Step Decoupage, and I am thrilled. The plan is to gather my daughter and her friends for an over-night pajama party this Friday. I don’t want them bored or getting into mischief, so I decided to plan a craft project that would not seem too “uncool” to them. Girls this age are so self-absorbed, I know they will enjoy making a Decoupage about themselves. I’ve already purchased the supplies at the crafts store, so we are ready to go. I don’t think I’ll tell them until party night. The surprise will be part of the fun!
Ceilidh Bands Edinburgh - Something blue
After the marriage rite, it is standard for flowers, petals, or pretty paper confetti to be thrown at the departing couple. In some agricultural areas the couple throw coins to the children who have gathered outside of the church to watch. This is called a’scramble’. This is the reason kids make a bee-line for local weddings. As the couple leave the celebration the groom dips his hands into his pockets ( or sporran ), and throws all his coins out on the ground for the children to scramble for. Another convention often seen during the evening wedding festivities involves the bride throwing her bridal bouquet, typically white roses, over her left shoulder. Her female non-attached bridesmaids and other single ladies in the bridal party stand in a line behind her. The girl who catches the thrown flower posy is by tradition going to be the following in the group to get married. Time for the Reception with Ceilidh Bands Scotland
Time for the Reception with Ceilidh Bands ScotlandFollowing on from the formal church ceremony, a piper or group of pipers would frequently lead the entire group of guests down the streets, frequently to a relative’s house, for a non stop night of celebration, banqueting and pleasure. Local musicians led by pipers would get the dancing started and practice has it the first dance, usually a reel, would involve the just wed couple.
Following on from their efforts, the rest of the guests would then dance all the way into the sma’ hours. In this respect, little has changed over 800 years - maybe except for the dress code and the sort of lager on tap. For more information on ceilidh bands Scotland, Quote REF: Ceilidh Bands Scotland LVL
