Stolen car recovery is on the decline. How safe is your car?

Auto theft is big in any country. The past few years have shown a dramatic decline in the recovery of stolen automobiles. This has become a major concern for citizens and government officials alike. The Insurance Bureau of Canada says recovery rate in Ontario went down to 70% from 90-95%. Recovery rate in Quebec is even worse- less than 50% of automobiles have been recovered in this area. You might ask yourself, “Stolen car recovery is on the decline. How safe is your car?” Where is the safest place to store your vehicles to avoid theft? Manitoba is said to have the highest rate of car theft in Canada. Newfoundland and Labrador rank the lowest. There are several steps you can take to avoid having your car stolen. Vehicles should always be locked and the keys should never be left in an unattended vehicle. Also, keep your valuables hidden from sight inside your vehicles. Security systems in cars should also be in good working condition.
