My View On “Where to Invest in 2011″
The individual investor feels like they are getting the short end of the stick.
Paltry dividends, dilution of their ownership because of excessive stock advice options then stock buybacks to reduce shares outstanding instead of dividends, no real say in corporate elections and executive compensation that is hundreds of time the average employee wage.
I got rid of Cisco years ago because everyone except shareholders (the owners) were getting a return. Ditto for airline stocks! Look at AMR, no dividends and no stock appreciation. Options for management, options for employees, stock buybacks at high prices and then issue more shares at low prices. For this we pay management?
I still own stocks but in companies that have a history of good dividends and a history of increasing them every year.
