Getting that first job out of college can be one of the most exciting times in a person’s young life.

I know it was for me.

The position I was heading into was at a major actuary firm as an under-study actuary.

Although I had my degree and the knowledge necessary to jump into the waters so to speak, it was the experience gleaned from actual work needed to flourish.

I was ready.

One of the first programs my new firm wanted me to learn was the six sigma certification.

This is a program designed to reduce the amount of errors initiated in the daily business processes.

As I said, it’s all about the on-the-job learning.
